Conference tour to Toledo
Tuesday, June 30, 2026

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue to Toledo, a medieval city located on a mountaintop. Toledo has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its cultural and monumental heritage and historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. In the Middle Ages the city was spectacular for religious tolerance and had large communities of Muslims and Jews.

There are many historical sites in Toledo. You can see Alcazar, Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, Mosque of Cristo de la Luz or Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. In the Church of St.Thomas (Iglesia de Santo Tomé) you can see a famous painting of El Greco.

The Cathedral of Toledo, built between 1226–1493, combines some characteristics of the Mudéjar style. You will admire the huge Baroque altar El Transparente.

The tour is non-guided but accompanied by the IISES team.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included.

We will be back at around 18.00. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for this conference tour will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk.

Children under six years are not allowed on the tour.
