Conference tour: Óbidos
Tuesday, September 24

The bus leaves at 9.00 from the conference venue.

Óbidos, the medieval „white city“, is a well-preserved example of medieval architecture. What makes it one of Europe's most romantic medieval villages are its picturesque cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses and whitewashed churches.
You start from Porta da Vila, the town gate whose interior is decorated with 18th century tiles, along the main street Rua Direita filled with small shops, where you can buy traditional ceramics or miniature windmills. Then you will get to the main square with Santa Maria Church.
The town is crowned by the gothic castle from the 12th century. Walking the town ramparts, visitors can enjoy views of windmills and vineyards.

The tour is non-guided but accompanied by the IISES team.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included.

We will be back at around 5PM. The time of return is approximate and cannot be guaranteed.

Participants who registered for this conference tour will receive a tour voucher at the registration desk.

Children under six years are not allowed on the tour.
