THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE TRANSLATION METHOD (TILT) AND THE ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILL AMONG THE JAPANESE UNDERGRADUATES

Abstract:

This study will discuss one of the language teaching methodology, Translation, the arguments on its effects on foreign language learning; the pro and cons of using translation especially on the Japanese EFL students. The background of the English language education and the current situation in Japan will also be briefly discussed, followed by the research questions, methodology, and tasks conducted in this study.
